Person 1: Well I think it was a very good march, and it’s people power I think who matter most on this planet, not the * who haven’t you know, any kind of ideas. And you have to follow their ideas. So I call that, you know, Hitler, we are Hitler. And I think Bush is the same as an Hitler, but he is a capitalist. That’s the difference. Thank you very much.
Person 2: I disagree with the idea of this particular war.
Interviewer: Do you think we can stop this war?
Person 2: I think so, yeah. And I think a turn out like this is really positive, and it’s things like this which, you know, get people to sit up and look. And this is phenomenal. It’s a phenomenal turn out I must admit.
I think the legitimacy of the United Nations is going to seriously be questioned. I think there are a number of resolutions which are outstanding over many years. Most notably for a lot of people, in terms of Palestine, and Israel and in Kashmir. I think people are going to look at this and see a double-standard and hypocracy. And other parts of the world where there are problems which are not being resolved. And it just seems that, you know, at the moment, what’s being, you know, demonstrated is that ‘might is right’. And it makes people very cynical, and I think the outcome of that cynicism is going to be a lot of deep hurt, which is going to be expressed in many ways which are very negative.
I mean, as I was saying to my wife, I mean, I’ve been marching for many many years; But twenty years on, you know, we’ve progressed in so many other ways, and we’ve got all the internet, and we’ve got all these incredible technologies; but in terms of, you know, words like ‘truth’ and ‘democracy’, where’s the progress? It seems like we’re going back.
Person 3: How can a small country like this fight back? The only way is terrorism, So as far as I can see, Bush is encouraging terrorism.
